homemade alfredo sauce

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
  • 1/2 block (4oz) cream cheese
  • 1 pint (2 cups) heavy whipping cream
  • 2/3 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter all the way. Add the cream cheese and melt all the way. Add the heavy whipping cream, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese. Cook on low for a few minutes, stirring frequently. Add salt and pepper. Let stand for 5 minutes to thicken. Mix with cooked fettuccini.
