May is my favorite spring month for so many reasons: the weather is gorgeous and despite my seasonal allergies I love all the flowers and green grass outside. It is also the month when the school year gets wrapped up and I love the transition from school time into summertime…it’s a nice break from the structure of the school year into the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer when we can sleep in and do whatever we want whenever we want!
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Until then, May is one of the three busiest times of the year, in my opinion. After the beginning of the school year and the craziness of the November/December season comes the last month of school. There are so many happenings that go on this month! You think it’s going to be easy because it’s just about time to transition into summer vacation and all we have to do is “wrap things up”, but between school dance festivals, end-of-year assignments and testing, May Days (where teachers line up special events for the last month of school), we might as well call it what it is: Maycember.
